Welcome to Hanham Court Gardens,
a 13th century family run estate, on the edge of the Cotswolds, between Bristol and Bath.

‘The view of the formal gardens is one that cannot be forgotten; not only due to it’s
undeniable beauty but also the distinctive features that are now associated with Hanham Court; most notably the extensive lawn that dissolves seamlessly into the surrounding nature at the ha-ha, framed by the perfectly manicured topiary. Walking through the arched entrance to the gardens is a sight to behold, as the garden is unveiled from behind the fortress of the Court.’

Explore the Formal Gardens and beyond…

Hanham Court Gardens is a 13th Century estate situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, between Bristol and Bath.
Home to Julia and Richard Boissevian and their family since 2015, the gardens at Hanham Court have only recently become a prominent feature of the estate, in relation to its long history.
In 1993, the award-winning landscape designers Isabel and Julian Bannerman re-established and transformed the grounds into the inspiring gardens that you see today. The couple have designed gardens across the globe, including the 9/11 Memorial Gardens in New York, Lord Rothschild at Waddesdon Manor and King Charles III at Highgrove.
Over twenty years
Isabel and Julian skilfully designed a sympathetic and deeply romantic garden with a reputation that takes it far beyond Hanham. Today the Boissevain family continue to honour their work, putting their own love and passion for gardening into maintaining this green haven, whilst creating and experimenting with new planting schemes and garden spaces to enjoy.

Roses wind around wooden obelisks in a shape that resembles spun sugar, producing voluminous, frothy white roses all through the summer months’
